Voice Gems Receives EVSDA Grand Prize

Voice Gems was awarded the Grand Prize at the first EU–Vietnam Sustainable Design Awards, in recognition of its human-centered approach to sustainability through voice, identity, and cultural memory. Initiated by the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, the awards platform brings together European and Vietnamese institutions, experts, and creative practitioners to highlight design shaped by innovation, responsibility, and social impact.

Vietnam Today Features Trung Bao on Voice Gems

Voice Gems was featured by Vietnam Today following its recognition at the EU–Vietnam Sustainable Design Awards 2025. The project was highlighted for its human-centered and non-extractive approach to sustainability, using technology to preserve identity and cultural memory through the human voice.

Voice Gems Featured on V&A Digital Media

Voice Gems was featured across the V&A’s digital platforms, highlighting VOICE GEMS: 1000 YEAR ARCHIVE, an ongoing project by Harry Yeff and Trung Bao that transforms distinctive voices into digital gemstones and physical sculptures. Through this evolving body of work, the project frames voice as a form of memory, preservation, and cultural record for future generations.

Re.imagine: Resonant Augmenta Performance in Geneva, Switzerland

Re.imagine: Resonant Augmenta was presented as the opening performance of the AI for Good Global Summit 2025, bringing together classical music, AI, and real-time visual technologies in a cross-disciplinary live format. Developed by Nguyễn Thiện Minh and Fustic. in collaboration with R100Studios, the work explores the evolving relationship between human expression and artificial intelligence through an immersive piano quintet performance.

Voice Gems Collaboration with World Economic Forum

‘Messages of Hope’ is a curated collection of Voice Gems. Each work premiered at the Davos main Congress centre, the largest tech-art exhibition in the history of the @worldeconomicforum – showcasing voices from @rupikaur_, @sadhguru, @iamwill, @janegoodallinst and more.

The Ai Weiwei Voice Gem

The Ai Weiwei Voice Gem was created as part of the VOICE GEMS project using a voice recording of Ai Weiwei in conversation with a friend and collaborator. Generated through the Voice Gems system, the work transforms vocal data into a digital object, continuing the project’s exploration of voice as a medium for preservation, memory, and human connection.

VOICE GEM #1137 Named Finalist for Lumen Prize Awards

The "Voice of Hiroshima Survivor Trees" VOICE GEM has been selected as a finalist for two Lumen Prize awards, a prestigious recognition in the art and technology world. This Voice Gem is unique, with its color and form generated not from a human voice but from the voice of a special tree. The sounds captured by Philip Clemo using a specialized microphone reveal the internal movements of this tree, recorded exactly 75 years after the Hiroshima bomb's devastating impact.

‘Kẻ Chợ’ Premiered at Hanoi Opera House Hanoi Festival of Creative Design 2024

Trung Bao performed at the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Festival of Creative Design 2024, showcasing the innovative and creative spirit of his home city. Held at the iconic Hanoi Opera House, the event featured his new piece, Kẻ Chợ, a stunning collaboration with NSND Minh Chí (chèo drum), NSƯT Nguyễn Đức Mười (tuồng drum), and the ASP choir. This performance highlighted the fusion of tradition and modernity, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

Physical VOICE GEMS

VOICE GEMS has always set sights on digital and physical ceremonial artworks. Last year we began a journey looking to turn laughter between lovers into a physical artwork created from 3D printed silver. The journey ended with a dear friend @_elfin_ polishing the piece and completing the very first prototype.

The human voice can be held, loved, and respected. A new digital-physical ceremony.

‘Father’s Voice, Walking Her Down the Aisle’

Voice Gems was commissioned for a wedding as a way to honor the memory of the bride’s late father. Using a treasured recording of his voice, the project transformed sound into a pair of silver earrings, creating an intimate memorial object that brought memory, presence, and personal ritual into a significant life moment.
